A New Year

Well here we are at the end of another year and a New Year to look forward to. I'm a great believer in looking forward with hope and optimism because there is no point in looking back it is the past. Christmas at the Cloud Hotel was a great success and as usual my staff worked so hard to make sure all our guests enjoyed themselves and I think they did as many have booked for next Christmas and we only have 5  rooms available. If you want to spend a traditional Christmas in the New Forest don't leave it too late!!

The hotel is now closed for our annual re-furbishment and we re-open on Sunday January 11th 2015. The staff have 2 weeks much needed rest after such a busy year and it gives us the chance to decorate some of the bedrooms, clean the carpets and do general maintenance ready for the coming season.

I was reading recently in one of the many surveys we have in this country that it was decided that short breaks do you as much good as a week or fortnight's break. That is probably why the short mid-week breaks we offer by staying three or four nights and getting a night FREE are so popular. Even in the winter months a few days just relaxing by a roaring log fire and wrapping up warm to go for walks in the New Forest can benefit you, help you to unwind and blow away those winter blues. Our winter weekends available until the end of March are also very popular arriving on a Thursday or Friday, you can stay 2 nights and get the third night FREE

The next big event of 2015 is Valentine's day that falls on a Saturday giving you the opportunity to spend a romantic weekend away with that special person in your life and enjoy a candlelit dinner in our Encore Restaurant.

I hope I shall have the pleasure of welcoming you to the Cloud Hotel during 2015 and I wish you a New Year filled with good health, love, happiness and peace.

The Inspector Called!

We never know when the AA Inspector is going to give us a visit and we certainly didn't expect him on a Friday night in December but much to my surprise he announced himself on Saturday morning after he had checked out of his room having stayed the night. At least he inspected us when we were very busy with Christmas functions and saw us as we really are! He told us he had enjoyed a wonderful stay and increased our quality percentage to 79%. This is a real accolade for my team of staff who work so hard and are committed to excellent customer service.

It's beginning to feel alot like Christmas at the Cloud Hotel with the decorations by Mike Dacombe of Inspiration New Milton looking stunning as usual and the Christmas functions in full swing. It's a very busy time for us but we love to see so many of our regular customers come and enjoy a delicious traditional Christmas meal and relax in our cosy lounges by the log fire.

My staff are always ready for a well earned break after Christmas so the hotel will be closed from Saturday December 27th 2014 and will re-open on Sunday 11th January 2015. This not only gives my staff a break but also gives us the opportunity to redecorate the rooms and do general maintenance ready for what I hope will be another busy year.

The first big event in 2015 is Valentine's Day which falls on a Saturday, treat someone special in your life to a romantic weekend away in the heart of the New Forest and unwind and relax in the friendly atmosphere of the Cloud Hotel. We are already taking bookings so don't leave it too late and be disappointed.

Finally a very Happy Christmas and may the New Year bring you good health, happiness and peace.
